What’s on your mind?

You know how Facebook asks this question when you log in? Well other than it being a mild annoyance, it got me thinking. So I’ll tell you what’s on my mind. Besides the fundraiser I’m overseeing for my recording project, there are several things on my mind. For instance, how tomorrow decides my future country of residence after I complete graduate school. Things are different, people realize how there is to be no reconciliation over the line. Or perhaps the multiple genocides being committed. From Armenia, to Brazil, to here. Or is it the fact that the world powers are attempting to stamp out dissidents? What else? Oh right, the fact that there is now a worldwide spike in COVID-19 cases. Or how about that our climate is violently changing? Maybe it’s just an overthinking of this world I live in. There is also the matter of how a resurgence of fascism in all its forms seems to infect the world. I though we fought a world war to stamp that out. Or how about how our government has failed its people beyond measure and will continue to do so. On a lighter note, I also have to contend that there are only 5 weeks of my semester left (including this one) so I guess that’s a plus. Or how about the holidays that I’ve never really enjoyed will be impacted. And lastly (for now), my impact upon this world both as a musician and as a person. That is what’s on my mind.
