Dear Joe Biden
Dear Joe Biden,
Congratulations on your success in the election race. Many Americans including myself are hopeful that you will bring some sanity back to the White House along with your vice president. This is a monumental achievement indeed as you are not only the oldest president but also the 4th person to defeat an incumbent president. As a teenager, I watched you along with former president Obama help to create the first national healthcare system. You two where a formidable force so much so, that the Republicans sought to shut down just so a supreme court nomination would not go through. Despite all of the accomplishments of those years, it was not without controversy. No politician worth his salt is without it unfortunately. While those who put their support behind you are glad you have won, there are others who believe that not much will be done due to your political ideology. There is also the issue of the militarization of the police force, which you helped to create long ago. Obviously it is only through hindsight that we can clearly judge the actions of your time as senator. I am certain you understand the gravitas of the presidency having been in the White House before. There are other issues that seem endless so I’ll keep it brief as to not have a book on the table. Firstly, as previously mentioned, the militarized police force who seeks to genocide non-whites. I admit that I don’t have an answer other than to defund the police and allocate them towards a more long term solution like say, affordable housing or to rehabilitation services. Secondly, there is the international position we must reclaim. China and Russia are doing everything to undermine our position whether it’s by threatening Taiwan, or by placing bounties on our troops. Speaking of our troops, what is your position on the Middle East? I personally think we should transition to away from Saudi oil and aggressively pursue to switch to a more eco-friendly energy source. Of course, I am a mere citizen and I realize that drastic times will call for drastic measures. Lastly, the coronavirus. The lackeys who supported Trump shout in the streets that you’ll shut down the country again. There are talks of vaccine trials but I am not convinced yet as we have learned that the virus has transmuted and evolved. I trust that your task force will do everything to kill this deadly virus. I sincerely wish you all the best as a democratic socialist and an American citizen.
