You are missing the point.

It’s not about the riots.

It’s about a standard of living.

It’s about being able to live.

It’s about the use of excessive force.

You said that we where freed with the Emancipation.

You beat us down, both mentally and physically.

And yet you like our music.

Every one wants to be a “real nigga” until you realize that there is no such thing.

You like our athletes, our creations, and our ideas.

Yet you hate us a people.

And for what?

It’s about sending a message.

Such oppression can only yield such outrage.

And there is no way to express said outrage peacefully.

I have no country in which to call mine.

You took me from my land.

You enslaved me.

And even then, you hunted us down.

You say we can be an integrated society.

I have yet to see so.

How can we be integrated when our country was founded on morals of former Englishmen?

How am I supposed to live when your own leader has incited hatred and segregation against us?

It makes me wonder, do I belong anywhere?
