Q+A

What have you been up to? - I’ve been trying to do everything I can to leave the country permanently.

Where would you like to move to and why? - Right now as things are, my options are Ireland or Denmark. Ireland has less of a language barrier, but I have more potential connections in Denmark.

Where are you nowadays? I thought you where still in Ohio? - I moved back below the Mason-Dixon line. I have tried for 10 years to make a life for myself and failed miserably to do so. Not to mention a constant shitstorm of problems, failed relationships, and my car falling apart. I couldn’t take it anymore.

What are going to do now? - TLDR, work to save money, and then fuck off to Europe. Long answer, be angry about the state of the world due to unhinged and unfettered capitalism, do what I can to bring attention to the inevitable end of humanity, and compose and perform as much as possible.

What’s it like where you are now? - I’ll be nice (for now), this place is a small town that wants so badly to be a mid-sized city and it’s not working very well. You absolutely need a car in order to survive here.

Are your friends glad that you’re back/are you glad to be home? - I will say, that once things get going here, I will be glad to not burn all of my money on life subscriptions. My friends are glad to see me but that pales in comparison to my mother’s dog. He’s always a ball of energy. I’m slightly jealous of him. There’s a lot I severely dislike about my hometown, (namely I’m bored often) but I will get used to it again.

How was your packing? - Relatively straightforward. I always worry about how much stuff I accumulate but I mainly just have clothes. That said, I need to get the rest of my things back down here ASAP so if you can help with that, I would be grateful.

Future plans? I saw you went to Poland and Denmark last year. - Yes I did. I really enjoyed my time in both countries. I speak Polish at about an A1 level and I have started thinking and conversing in Polish. I wish I had more time in Poland because I love Kraków. Denmark was much more relaxed (less traveling from city to city) but was also amazing since I got to bike everywhere in Hvide Sande. I felt more at home performing and being able to wake up to natural light without the sound of cars mostly. Right now there are more masterclasses/auditions I want to attend so I’m preparing for those.

What happened to your wedding gigs? - I stopped doing them. I can’t stand the music I was performing for them and not to mention all of the driving as well. Also the costs of having them coupled (huehue) with the fact that I am not a fan of the marital institution drove a nail in the coffin where my heart lays.

What’s your favorite season? - I don’t have a favorite season. My sinuses are the actual worst so I am constantly in danger of getting sinus infections, colds, flu, etc. I can say that I absolutely hate winter. I don’t do well with ice, lack of sunlight, or blizzards (he says as it’s completely gray where he is since yesterday).

Why so pessimistic? - Easy. I pay attention to geopolitics and news (in before news access get neutered). I have seen, experienced, and read things that make me question humanity on a daily basis.

That’s all for now.
