A Letter to my former teacher

A letter to my former teacher.

I finally understand what you went through. I apologize for accidentally calling you Russian. I was ignorant of said world events. But now I truly understand why you always seemed on edge. My friends and I still mention the horror your family went through. I understand why you were so angry and your mental state. Little did you know but now my colleagues are also on edge. I don't know what it's like to have a foreign power invade. I hope I never do. Despite all of this, I hope you are doing well. I thank you for your patience, time, and optimism you showed me. I hope that I can reach out to you some day. It has been far too long and I hope you are doing well.

Sincerely, your former student,

Patrick.
